I was trying to rate this machine 4.5 stars. It’s awesome but could use a little improvement. I just stripped around 1500 pounds of wire 90% of which was around the maximum this machine was rated to do size wise. Most of the wire I stripped was 500 mcm wire or right around 1 inch in diameter. Took me around 2 hours to strip. Not bad actually but the wire is very stiff and this machine handles wire that can be fed through it best when it can be fed as straight as possible. The motor is a 1/4 horsepower and at that size wire to get a proper grip and feed rate I had to slow it down to around half of what it can feed to handle it without it reaching a motor overload. It’s not bad though. If that happens just reduce the speed to zero power off for about 10 seconds reduce the depth of the cutting wheel about a 1/4 turn and try again until it takes off. Any wire I ran that was smaller it did flawlessly at full speed. I wish the machine had a way of pre straightening the wire with maybe a couple of adjustable bearings on the sides to help feed it centered. It’s not perfect but it’s close and for the money it definitely beats doing it every other way I’ve tried. I think this machine is great and it is super duper quiet as well. I have no regrets buying this machine because it does save a lot of time and so far it shows no wear of the cutting wheel or the feeding wheels. I would highly recommend this for anyone that is stripping more wire than an average person as it does do it exactly as described. Also I paid the extra for 3 day shipping and I got mine less than 48 hours after I placed my order so I would say this company isn’t like most and this isn’t some made in China garbage that uses a drill to operate. My coworker bought something like that and I bought this and the difference is night and day. We all get what we pay for and this is definitely worth the cost in my personal opinion after doing it other ways and trying cheaper alternatives. It’s an investment that definitely pays dividends from my experience so far. If my 350x broke today it’s already paid for itself a couple times over. I hope this helps someone that’s on the fence and I would say if the majority of your scrap wire is around an inch this machine will definitely do it but I would probably step up to the next bigger size machine
