To check the fuse on the StripMeister E250 follow these 4 easy steps:
- Unplug the StripMeister E250
- Remove the drive cover
- Remove the 4 M3 screws
- Lift the cover carefully up and on the back side is the fuse
If the fuse needs to be replaced:
To replace the StripMeister E250 fuse you will need a T8A Ceramic Cylinder, Time-Lag, 250VAC/UL/CSA, 5x20mm Fuse (Allied Electronic #70160407). You can find the fuse by clicking this link.

The Fuse Location
When you are stripping wire if the wire is slipping to the side it is normally not at the correct angle. We have a great setup video to stop the slipping of wire and you can find it by clicking this link.
Maintenance
To ensure smooth operation of your StripMeister E250 we recommend a maintenance of the following:
Make sure the machine is unplugged before performing any maintenance
1. Check oil level on the gear box monthly.
Before checking the oil, make sure the gear box is not hot. If oil is visible when the screw is removed from Oil filler hole on the gear box, the unit is still full. If not visible top up with manufacturers recommended gear oil (ISO VG320 or Petro of China CN320) until full.
For gear oil visit website:
http://www.pdblowers.com/pr91-roots-synthetic-lubricant-iso-vg-320-quart.php
2. Inspect blade for damage
3. Inspect and clean Feeder Drive of dirt and debris
4. Inspect whole machine for any loose parts
All of our machines come ready to use out of the box. Unpack your StripMeister and plug it in and begin stripping.
We only use one type of grease on our StripMeister machines and the grease can be found at any local hardware store. The type of grease we use is a general purpose white grease that is low odor, non staining, NLGI grade 2 grease.
We recommend using the provided hardware to fasten your StripMeister to a work bench or table.
Cat 5, Cat 5 and telephone wire are normally 22 and 20 gauge wire making it too small for the StripMeister E250 to strip. The smallest wire size the StripMeister E250 can do is #18 gauge wire.
The StripMeister E250 blade is CNC machined.
The StripMeister E250’s blade is made from heat treated and hardened tool steel for unbeatable quality.
With free shipping, we utilize a network of carriers to get your StripMeister the quickest to your location. You should receive your StripMeister E250 within 5 to 7 business days.
The StripMeister E250 can run on 220 Volts without any other needed configuration from StripMeister. Because the plug is regularly different for 220 volts you will need an adapter for the StripMeister.
The StripMeister E250 runs off any standard 110/120V household outlet.

So far the machine is exactly as I expected. And the speed in which it devours wire is fantastic.

Absolutely a quality product. This works wonderfully for most stranded wire. The stiffer the wire the more challenging it may be. If you cut too deep into smaller/more flexible wire then needle sharp daggers pour out everywhere(user error, just be warned). The big hang up for me on this one is the Romex/solid wire option. Getting into the exterior rated wire(UF-B) is still a pain and I have some concern about how long the cutting wheels are going to last against solid wire. This product is high quality, well designed and well thought out. If you are doing bulk stranded from 16g(ish) down to 2g(ish) then this unit is perfect and going to make your life so much easier. I’m not 100% sold on the value in Romex/solid wire.

This machine is easy to set up and I started striping right away. I strip mostly braided and the coating on the outside of the wire I strip can be a hindrance but the machine does fine

Is this the best wire stripper out there? Yes. Is it perfect? No. It does do a good job stripping wire, don’t get me wrong. However the lifetime reliability of parts is questionable. I did have to replace the wire feed guide after stripping about 400lbs of wire. Seems the “Air-Craft Grade” aluminum was a bit too soft and the romex sheathing wore the hole to a point where it couldn’t keep the wire in line of the cutting wheel, despite strictly following their protocol for proper placement of the guide to wire. Luckily that was replaced under the 1 year, seems short in my opinion, warranty and I can’t imagine what they charge to replace it at my cost. And speaking of the cutting wheel, I’m already on #2 after about 600lbs. Tool steel just doesn’t stay sharp long enough to justify the 30 dollar price tag. Once it goes dull, it doesn’t cut/score the plastic sheathing. I feel like Carbide would be a better candidate for the cutting wheel. Also, I do wish the second hole from the bottom on the wire feeder was a bit bigger to allow for 10/3 round wire. These are small improvements that definitely should be worth considering to check on and offer better replacements.

My E250 works really well. It will pay for itself in no time. A little disappointed that the variable speed knob was broken during shipping but no problem, still works great. A little constructive criticism, I think the power cord would be a little more out of the way on the right side than the left where the wire feeds through. Just an observation, otherwise a great product.
